I believe local government works best when elected officials focus on facts, listen carefully to residents, work collaboratively, and make thoughtful decisions that serve the long-term interests of the community.
During my time on Town Council, I have focused on responsible budgeting, infrastructure investment, economic development, and improving municipal operations while preserving the rural character of Richmond that residents value most.
MY APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP
Responsible Financial Management
✓ No tax increase in FY25/26
✓ Reduced expenditures in FY26/27
✓ No new debt in either fiscal year
Investing in Infrastructure
✓ Allocated $850,000 for road improvements
✓ Leveraged state funding support
✓ Improved long-term capital planning
✓ Advocated for Wyoming Route 138/Main Street state investment by RIDOT along with Councilor Reynolds which led to the project being included in the State Transportation Improvement Plan and the development of an engineering plan and cost breakdown of the project
Supporting Municipal Operations
✓ Delivered staff compensation increases in FY25/26 and FY26/27
✓ Successful Town Administrator transition
✓ Successful Town Clerk transition
Improving Government Efficiency
✓ Reduced transfer station operating days while implementing late weekday access during daylight savings
✓ Transitioned Town Hall operations to a four-day schedule while expanding service hours with earlier openings and extended Tuesday evening availability
✓ Evaluated staffing structure and converted select full-time positions to part-time roles where operationally appropriate
Planning for Richmond’s Future
✓ Partnered with Councilor Palmisciano and Stop & Shop to release the former Cycle Brothers building, clearing a major obstacle to redevelopment of Chariho Plaza (read more here)
✓ Advanced Richmond Commons 240+ acre mixed-use development supporting future business, housing, and indoor/recreation
✓ Streamlined business licensing
✓ Joined Rhode Island’s first Main Street America cohort
✓ Championed creation of the Richmond Environmental Hazard & Resiliency Commission to improve community preparedness and long-term resiliency planning
Expanded Recreation and Community Opportunities
✓ Increased funding of recreation commission to support additional community events
✓ Voluntarily declined my Town Council stipend and redirected those funds to the Recreation Commission budget to help expand recreational opportunities for residents
✓ Supported the hiring of a part-time Recreation Director to oversee community events in coordination with the recreation commission, management of Town-owned properties for public-use, and expanded Spring and Summer Camp programming

The many conversations I had with residents helped shape my priorities. Today, I continue hearing the same themes, and they remain the foundation for the work ahead.
ABOUT ME
MOVING FORWARD
I am a Richmond resident of 10+ years, husband, father of two young children, Eagle Scout, and Assistant Den Leader with Pack 1 Richmond. I also volunteer at Richmond Elementary School assisting the garden club and EnRichmond program. My wife Sam is an active member of the school’s PTO, a Den Leader with Pack 1 Richmond, and the fundraising chair of the pack. We're both invested in the future of our community and committed to ensuring Richmond remains a place where our children and future generations can live, learn, and thrive.
My commitment to serving Richmond has included both volunteer and appointed leadership roles. I served on the Richmond Planning Board for five years, including as Vice Chair in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, I also served as the Planning Board representative on the Technical Review Committee and as a member of the Chariho Building Committee. In 2020, I served as a poll clerk during the general election.
Professionally, I work at General Dynamics Electric Boat as an Engineering Supervisor, leading an engineering team whose expertise is in advanced structural analysis supporting commissioned vessels, construction, and the design of the next-generation of submarine platforms.
I believe public service requires preparation, collaboration, and a commitment to practical solutions that serve the entire community.
